From the project

This is a communication system that I designed for a nanosatellite model. It involves an onboard communication system and a ground communication system. The main microcontroller used is an STM32H743 board and the communication protocols include UART, SPI, CAN and USB. Data storage using a microsd and wireless communication included

This is the PCB design of the Onboard communication system.

Tafiti Onboard Comms: common questions

What microcontroller does the Tafiti Onboard Comms use?

The Tafiti Onboard Comms is built around the STM32H743VIT6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Tafiti Onboard Comms PCB?

The Tafiti Onboard Comms measures 90.2 × 96 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6062 mm thick.

How many components are on the Tafiti Onboard Comms?

44 components, from 24 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Tafiti Onboard Comms design files?

From the geraldombuthia/Nanosat-communication-system repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Tafiti Onboard Comms design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with geraldombuthia. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Tafiti Onboard Comms without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
