About the Wisc PCB

Wisc is an open source PCB design by gitwannes, published on GitHub under the Custom license license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 85 × 56 mm, with 21 components from 17 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 8 connectors, 6 capacitors, 2 diodes and 1 fuse.

From the project

Electronics board for Wanos

Structured notes and read-only KiCad projects for legacy WISC hardware. Current WanOS runs on WISC in the field — mainly the 2.5.3 I/O carrier plus the 2.6.4 HDMI board on the Pi that drives LCD screens.

Read-only rule: Do not edit KiCad sources here — see .cursor/rules/wisc-boards-readonly.mdc. New design work lives in projects/wanos-board/ (wanos-pcb-v1).

Wisc: common questions

How big is the Wisc PCB?

The Wisc measures 85 × 56 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Wisc?

21 components, from 17 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Wisc design files?

From the gitwannes/wanos-pcb repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Wisc design in my own project?

It is published under Custom license, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.
