From the project

Electronics board for Wanos

KiCad design and JLCPCB fabrication for wanos-pcb-v1 — first-generation WanOS Pi carrier.

Today: WanOS runs on WISC boards (legacy reference in-repo). Target: wanos-pcb-v1 + updated wanos. Code → gitwannes/wanos.

1. ~~kickoff / S1 / Gate-S1~~ — Done (schematic signed 2026-09-21). 2. Ops-Remote1 — operator cleans + checks projects/wanos-remote/. 3. implement L1 — main carrier layout (after Gate-S1). 4. V1a — board + updated wanos; cutover from WISC.

Wanos board: common questions

What microcontroller does the Wanos board use?

The Wanos board is built around the Raspberry_Pi_4, from the Raspberry Pi family.

How big is the Wanos board?

The Wanos board has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Wanos board?

131 components, from 47 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Wanos board design files?

From the gitwannes/wanos-pcb repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Wanos board design in my own project?

It is published under Custom license, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Wanos board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
