Simple PCB project

This project is a simple PCB design using the Digistump ATtiny microcontroller, developed as part of the Soldiers Hack Club. The board is intended for beginner-level electronics projects and uses KiCad 7 for design. It includes both manually routed and auto-routed layouts to compare routing methods.

Digistump ATtiny: common questions

What microcontroller does the Digistump ATtiny use?

The Digistump ATtiny is built around the ATtiny85, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Digistump ATtiny PCB?

The Digistump ATtiny measures 37.8 × 12 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Digistump ATtiny?

10 components, from 8 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Digistump ATtiny design files?

From the Hasona57/Digistump-ATtiny repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Digistump ATtiny design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Hasona57. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Digistump ATtiny without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
