ibScale Lite Feeder for the LumenPNP

ibScaleFeederLite is an updated version of the Opulo LumenPNP Rev 12 Feeder motherboard with several enhancements.

A Texas Instruments TPS563300 with MLCC capacitors has replaced the original design. The input capacitance has been reduced to 10uF to help prevent arcing during insertion. The reduced capacitance also helps mitigate the excessive bus capacitance start-up issue. A 0.75A PPTC fuse (F1) and diode (D1) have also been added to provide over-current and reverse-current protection.

The KiCad project lives in the ibScale/ibScaleFeederLite repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

IbScaleFeederLite: common questions

What microcontroller does the IbScaleFeederLite use?

The IbScaleFeederLite is built around the STM32F031C6Tx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the IbScaleFeederLite PCB?

The IbScaleFeederLite measures 51.6 × 89 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6062 mm thick.

How many components are on the IbScaleFeederLite?

74 components, from 42 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the IbScaleFeederLite design files?

From the ibScale/ibScaleFeederLite repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the IbScaleFeederLite design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which ibScale chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the IbScaleFeederLite without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
