From the project
RC helicopter remote control based on an STM32 MCU
This project is a custom PCB-based remote controller for an RC helicopter, built around the STM32L452RET6 microcontroller. It interfaces with two joysticks, four buttons, and two potentiometers to capture user input and transmits control data wirelessly via the NRF24L01 module to the helicopter's mainboard.
It complements the Mainboard PCB and is developed in parallel with it as part of the same system.

Rc helicopter remote: common questions
What microcontroller does the Rc helicopter remote use?
The Rc helicopter remote is built around the STM32L4P5RET6, from the STM32 family.
How big is the Rc helicopter remote PCB?
The Rc helicopter remote measures 100 × 50 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Rc helicopter remote?
43 components, from 24 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Rc helicopter remote design files?
From the ikajdan/rc-helicopter-remote repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Rc helicopter remote design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which ikajdan chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Rc helicopter remote without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
