About the Mini motor controller PCB
Mini motor controller is an open source STM32 PCB design by Jana-Marie, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 28.2 × 24.5 mm, with 39 components from 20 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the STM32F030F4Px, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the AP2204R-3.3 and STSPIN220. By type, the board carries 15 resistors, 13 capacitors, 5 connectors, 3 ICs, 2 diodes and 1 inductor.
It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.
From the project
A controller for miniature stepper motors
A motor controller for miniature stepper motors, such as used in CD head drives. The additional ADC input allows for position feedback. This project was intended to be used in a DIY motor fader, however this motorfader has not been designed yet.
It features a cheap STM32F030 as brains with I2C as main IO to the host controller, an onboard regulator allows for an input voltage of up to 10V. The motor driver is a STSPIN220 with up to 1.3Arms.

Mini motor controller: common questions
What microcontroller does the Mini motor controller use?
The Mini motor controller is built around the STM32F030F4Px, from the STM32 family.
How big is the Mini motor controller PCB?
The Mini motor controller measures 28.2 × 24.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Mini motor controller?
39 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Mini motor controller design files?
From the Jana-Marie/mini-motor-controller repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Mini motor controller design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which Jana-Marie chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Mini motor controller without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
