About the DualBoard PCB

DualBoard is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by JannesWendelken, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 73.5 × 30 mm, with 10 components from 7 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny85-20S, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 4 resistors, 2 switches, 1 IC, 1 connector, 1 diode and 1 capacitor.

From the project

The cheapest DIY Macroboard you will ever see.

A budget-friendly DIY macroboard based on the ATtiny85.

I came up with the idea for it when I was looking for a small 2-key keyboard for Geometry Dash, but the prices were just way too high. So, I decided to design my own! This project lets you create your very own custom macroboard for a fraction of the cost of pre-built options.

- Budget-friendly: Designed to keep costs low. - Compact: Small, portable design. - Customizable: Modify the design to fit your needs. - Based on ATtiny85: A small but powerful microcontroller that’s perfect for this kind of project.

DualBoard: common questions

What microcontroller does the DualBoard use?

The DualBoard is built around the ATtiny85-20S, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the DualBoard PCB?

The DualBoard measures 73.5 × 30 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the DualBoard?

10 components, from 7 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the DualBoard design files?

From the JannesWendelken/DualBoard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the DualBoard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with JannesWendelken. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the DualBoard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
