About the Kicad ambient led system PCB

Kicad ambient led system is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by jay-waghmare, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 60 × 60 mm, with 9 components from 8 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny85V-10P, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 4 resistors, 1 IC, 1 battery holder, 1 microphone, 1 switch and 1 diode.

It belongs with the sensors designs in this gallery.

KiCad-based Ambient LED System - Auto brightness via LDR - Hardware project

I made a circular Diya LED board that runs on a 3.3V coin cell (BT1). It has both light sensing (LDR) and sound sensing (microphone) and a yellow LED, all controlled by my ATtiny85V.

I wanted to make a Diya that: - Turns on automatically when dark (like real Diya at night) - Saves battery when bright - Maybe responds to clap sound too

I divided my schematic into 5 units in KiCad (you can see in my Schmeatic-.png):

Kicad ambient led system: common questions

What microcontroller does the Kicad ambient led system use?

The Kicad ambient led system is built around the ATtiny85V-10P, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Kicad ambient led system PCB?

The Kicad ambient led system measures 60 × 60 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Kicad ambient led system?

9 components, from 8 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Kicad ambient led system design files?

From the jay-waghmare/kicad-ambient-led-system repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Kicad ambient led system design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which jay-waghmare chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Kicad ambient led system without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
