About the NanoSwinSIDlives PCB

NanoSwinSIDlives is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by jimbro1000, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 18 × 38.3 mm, with 14 components from 13 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega88PA-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the Program and CB3-3C-32M000000. By type, the board carries 6 resistors, 3 ICs, 1 connector, 1 diode and 1 capacitor.

Recreated schematics and pcb design for nano SwinSIDb

This project contains schematics and pcb design for the simple "nano SwinSID b", based on Swinkels original design. The hex code for programming the AtMega88 core is not included. You can find that at http://www.tolaemon.com/nss/ .

The schematics have been transcribed from those presented on that same page. The PCB design, while close to the original, is unique to this repository.

NanoSwinSIDlives: common questions

What microcontroller does the NanoSwinSIDlives use?

The NanoSwinSIDlives is built around the ATmega88PA-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the NanoSwinSIDlives PCB?

The NanoSwinSIDlives measures 18 × 38.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the NanoSwinSIDlives?

14 components, from 13 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the NanoSwinSIDlives design files?

From the jimbro1000/nanoSwinSIDlives repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the NanoSwinSIDlives design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which jimbro1000 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the NanoSwinSIDlives without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
