About the Synchroniser PCB

Synchroniser is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by jimmerricks, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 19.2 × 106 mm, with 54 components from 26 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ARDUINO_NANO_V3.X, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the TL072. By type, the board carries 22 resistors, 13 capacitors, 9 connectors, 5 diodes, 2 ICs and 2 switches.

From the project

This Eurorack module is a hand-solderable 4hp version of Hagiwo's Clock Sync LFO. It is based on the schematics and design by mzuelch but adds a couple of buttons and an extra LED. It is Arduino Nano based and compatible with firmware released by mzuelch, awonak and Modulove.

Use the ibom to assist with sourcing components, and as a placement guide when building the module.

Synchroniser: common questions

What microcontroller does the Synchroniser use?

The Synchroniser is built around the ARDUINO_NANO_V3.X, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Synchroniser PCB?

The Synchroniser measures 19.2 × 106 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Synchroniser?

54 components, from 26 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Synchroniser design files?

From the jimmerricks/synchroniser repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Synchroniser design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with jimmerricks. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Synchroniser without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
