About the MC8P-Midi-Controller PCB
MC8P-Midi-Controller is an open source NXP PCB design by joebmz98, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 155 × 92 mm, with 34 components from 16 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the Teensy4.0, from the NXP family. By type, the board carries 12 capacitors, 6 resistors, 4 switches, 2 connectors, 1 IC and 1 LED.
It belongs with the audio and displays & leds designs in this gallery.
From the project
8 Potentiometer Standalone MIDI Controller based on the Teensy 4.0.
A customizable, open-source MIDI controller with 8 potentiometers, each supporting Up to 10 assignable MIDI CCs per Potentiometer, built around the Teensy 4.0 for high-performance MIDI control.
The interface is organized into several screens accessible from the main display:
MAIN SCREEN → MENU → SETTINGS → various configuration screens
This is your default operating view. The screen displays eight circular indicators, one for each potentiometer, showing current MIDI values (0-127). Each circle fills proportionally to the value being sent.

MC8P-Midi-Controller: common questions
What microcontroller does the MC8P-Midi-Controller use?
The MC8P-Midi-Controller is built around the Teensy4.0, from the NXP family.
How big is the MC8P-Midi-Controller PCB?
The MC8P-Midi-Controller measures 155 × 92 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the MC8P-Midi-Controller?
34 components, from 16 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the MC8P-Midi-Controller design files?
From the joebmz98/MC8P-Midi-Controller repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the MC8P-Midi-Controller design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which joebmz98 chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the MC8P-Midi-Controller without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug NXP firmware against it before you order a PCB.
