About the Unison PCB

Unison is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by jpskenn, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 285 × 95.1 mm, with 281 components from 31 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega32U4-MU, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 95 diodes, 10 inductors, 8 LEDs, 7 capacitors, 7 resistors and 4 connectors.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

2-way turn around keyboard for Computer & Music

Unison: common questions

What microcontroller does the Unison use?

The Unison is built around the ATmega32U4-MU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Unison PCB?

The Unison measures 285 × 95.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Unison?

281 components, from 31 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Unison design files?

From the jpskenn/Unison repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Unison design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which jpskenn chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Unison without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
