About the CMX K Six key PCB
CMX K Six key is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by jstwy, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 56.9 × 37.9 mm, with 28 components from 12 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ATMEGA32U4, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 8 capacitors, 6 relays, 6 diodes, 4 resistors, 1 IC and 1 crystal.
From the project
Personal Project #1
Although the datasheet for the microcontroller indicates that the part used in this project, the ATMEGA32U4RC-AU, comes with a USB bootloader pre-programmed (see page 422 of the datasheet), my microcontroller did not come with one. For that reason, I had to solder wires onto the SPI signal pins and the reset pin in order to program the microcontroller with an Arduino UNO set up as an in-system programmer.

CMX K Six key: common questions
What microcontroller does the CMX K Six key use?
The CMX K Six key is built around the ATMEGA32U4, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the CMX K Six key PCB?
The CMX K Six key measures 56.9 × 37.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the CMX K Six key?
28 components, from 12 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the CMX K Six key design files?
From the jstwy/CMX_K_Six-key repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the CMX K Six key design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with jstwy. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the CMX K Six key without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
