About the Microcontroller Open Source Hardware PCB
Microcontroller Open Source Hardware is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by JulienChvt, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 68.6 × 53.3 mm, with 17 components from 10 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the Arduino_1pin, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the LTC1050, shield_RN2483 and GasSensor. By type, the board carries 5 resistors, 4 connectors, 4 capacitors and 3 ICs.
It belongs with the rf & radio, sensors and dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.
From the project
Connected gas sensor developed for the Microcontroller Open Source Hardware (MOSH) course.
Project done for the MICROCONTROLLERS AND OPEN-SOURCE HARDWARE course of INSA Toulouse.
Authors : Jean-Baptiste Laffosse - Julien Chouvet
The aim of this project is to build a connected gas sensor.
To be more specific, we use RN2483 chip, connected to an Arduino Uno, to send on the LoRa Network the values returned by the MQ-9 gas sensor. Thanks to The Things Network and Node-RED we create a dashboard as a user interface. In this dashboard, the user can monitor the value of the gas sensor and calibrate it.

Microcontroller Open Source Hardware: common questions
What microcontroller does the Microcontroller Open Source Hardware use?
The Microcontroller Open Source Hardware is built around the Arduino_1pin, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the Microcontroller Open Source Hardware PCB?
The Microcontroller Open Source Hardware measures 68.6 × 53.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Microcontroller Open Source Hardware?
17 components, from 10 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Microcontroller Open Source Hardware design files?
From the JulienChvt/Microcontroller_Open_Source_Hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Microcontroller Open Source Hardware design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with JulienChvt. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Microcontroller Open Source Hardware without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
