About the Openkey cps1 PCB

Openkey cps1 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by jwestfall69, published on GitHub under the Unlicense license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 108.3 × 80.5 mm, with 18 components from 14 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtinyxx4, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 10 connectors, 5 jumpers, 1 IC, 1 switch and 1 capacitor.

It belongs with the usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

CPS 1/1.5 B-21 programmer

This project is providing the same functionality as Undamned's InfiniKey-CPS1. The lack of supply is what prompted me to make openkey-cps1. If they ever end up coming back in stock please consider purchasing those to support Undamned's work.

Details on how to program the CPS B-21 chip configuration can be found in Eduardo Cruz's write up and youtube video. Additional information is also comes from cps2-reverse project which has details on the CPS B-21 chip.

Openkey cps1: common questions

What microcontroller does the Openkey cps1 use?

The Openkey cps1 is built around the ATtinyxx4, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Openkey cps1 PCB?

The Openkey cps1 measures 108.3 × 80.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Openkey cps1?

18 components, from 14 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Openkey cps1 design files?

From the jwestfall69/openkey-cps1 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Openkey cps1 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Unlicense license, which jwestfall69 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Openkey cps1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
