About the EgHub PCB

EgHub is an open source PCB design by karhincheong, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 66.5 × 89.2 mm, with 33 components from 7 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the SL2.1s and USBLC6-2SC6. By type, the board carries 16 capacitors, 6 ICs and 6 resistors.

It belongs with the usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

From the project

PCB Keychain for Hackclub Fallout

A 4-port output USB Hub keychain in the shape of an egg as a tribute to my friends. Main IC being CoreChips SL2.1S

This project is meant to be a try-out project for Fallout. It is to function as a primer for me to learn to make/design a PCB and at the same time make something useful.

You may choose to hand solder the components onto the PCB.

1. Print out the top and bottom covers using a 3D Printer. 2. Screw M3 screws into the 3 screw holes to an adequate tightness such that it doesnt damage the USB receptacles. Take note of the postition of the input USB-C.

EgHub: common questions

How big is the EgHub PCB?

The EgHub measures 66.5 × 89.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the EgHub?

33 components, from 7 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the EgHub design files?

From the karhincheong/EgHub repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the EgHub design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which karhincheong chose for the repository.
