Smart connected device to measure 8 temperatures and 2 AC currents

# temperator ## Smart connected device to measure 8 temperatures and 2 AC currents

temperator is a robust and easy-to-use measurement system for taking 8 temperatures and 2 AC currents. Its design is simple yet professional. No special knowledge is required for operation. In addition to the hardware, a configuration for operation with ESPHome is provided in a separate repository. This makes integration with Home Assistant or other home automation systems very easy. Besides legacy Home Assistant connectivity, MQTT as interface protocol is also supported.

Temperator: common questions

What microcontroller does the Temperator use?

The Temperator is built around the Arduino_Nano_ESP32_Socket, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Temperator PCB?

The Temperator measures 100 × 140 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Temperator?

78 components, from 18 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Temperator design files?

From the KHit6/temperator repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Temperator design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license, which KHit6 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Temperator without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
