ADB-to-USB Converter for Apple Desktop Bus Keyboards
ADB2USBC is a small PCB that allows vintage Apple ADB keyboards to be used as modern USB HID keyboards. The board is built around an ATmega32U2 microcontroller and is intended to run the ADB-to-USB converter firmware from the TMK Keyboard Firmware project.
This project contains the hardware design files for an ADB-to-USB converter board.

ADB2USBC: common questions
What microcontroller does the ADB2USBC use?
The ADB2USBC is built around the ATMEGA32U2-A, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the ADB2USBC PCB?
The ADB2USBC measures 33 × 48 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the ADB2USBC?
17 components, from 13 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the ADB2USBC design files?
From the KlemensMaentele/ADB2USBC repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the ADB2USBC design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with KlemensMaentele. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the ADB2USBC without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
