About the LPC210xBreakout PCB

LPC210xBreakout is an open source NXP PCB design by kwan3217, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 61 × 17.8 mm, with 14 components from 9 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the LPC2103, from the NXP family. Other key parts include the TCR2EF 1.8V. By type, the board carries 6 capacitors, 2 ICs, 2 connectors, 1 crystal, 1 switch and 1 diode.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

Breakout board for NXP LPC2101/2/3 microcontroller

Analog ground (pin 31) to digital ground Analog power (pin 42) to digital I/O (3.3V) power * RTC power (pin 4) to digital I/O (3.3V) power

The chip uses a 1.8V core voltage, and needs both 3.3V and 1.8V to operate. I have included a 3.3->1.8V regulator on the board. Since the 1.8V supply pin is broken out, you don't have to use this regulator if you don't want -- just don't populate the regulator.

LPC210xBreakout: common questions

What microcontroller does the LPC210xBreakout use?

The LPC210xBreakout is built around the LPC2103, from the NXP family.

How big is the LPC210xBreakout PCB?

The LPC210xBreakout measures 61 × 17.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the LPC210xBreakout?

14 components, from 9 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the LPC210xBreakout design files?

From the kwan3217/LPC210xBreakout repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the LPC210xBreakout design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which kwan3217 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the LPC210xBreakout without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug NXP firmware against it before you order a PCB.
