About the Dwatum PCB

Dwatum is an open source PCB design by lab11, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 22 × 28 mm, with 13 components from 10 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the DWM1000, ATUM, TPS727xx and TPS62740. By type, the board carries 4 ICs, 4 capacitors, 2 connectors, 2 resistors and 1 inductor.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

Indoor localization based on the DecaWave DW1000.

The PolyPoint system consists of several PCBs centered around TriPoint, the core UWB ranging module.

1. TriPoint: Triangular module which contains all necessary hardware for using the DecaWave DW1000. It has castellated headers so it can be soldered onto a carrier board to add indoor localization functionality to any device.

2. TriTag: Portable carrier board designed to be used as an indoor localization tag. Has TriPoint on one side and a BLE radio on the other.

Dwatum: common questions

How big is the Dwatum PCB?

The Dwatum measures 22 × 28 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Dwatum?

13 components, from 10 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Dwatum design files?

From the lab11/polypoint repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Dwatum design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which lab11 chose for the repository.
