About the Keeb PCB

Keeb is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by M0HID, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 272.6 × 104.6 mm, with 136 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA32U4, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 63 switches, 61 diodes, 7 capacitors, 2 resistors, 1 IC and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

It is a 65% layout (no function key row) I created this keyboard as i didnt have any good reliable portable keyboard that was comfortable to type on, so by making this i hope to solve that. I will create this PCB hopefully using hackclub onboard, and then assemble it myself

Keeb: common questions

What microcontroller does the Keeb use?

The Keeb is built around the ATMEGA32U4, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Keeb PCB?

The Keeb measures 272.6 × 104.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Keeb?

136 components, from 17 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Keeb design files?

From the M0HID/keeb-pcb repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Keeb design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with M0HID. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Keeb without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
