Raspberry PI-based IC tester

Minimalistic tester for integrated circuits, using Raspberry PI.

First copy has been build, tested and is working.

Software draft has been written and is working, files in software/ subdirectory. Run the raspi-ic-tester.py script. IC definitions are in .md files.

Case was printed, but tolerances were too low.

Raspi ic tester: common questions

What microcontroller does the Raspi ic tester use?

The Raspi ic tester is built around the Raspberry_Pi_2_3, from the Raspberry Pi family.

How big is the Raspi ic tester PCB?

The Raspi ic tester measures 91.4 × 68.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Raspi ic tester?

16 components, from 11 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Raspi ic tester design files?

From the madworx/raspi-ic-tester repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Raspi ic tester design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with madworx. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Raspi ic tester without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
