About the HallowBadges-Pumpkin PCB

HallowBadges-Pumpkin is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by makeristic, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 99.6 × 94.1 mm, with 10 components from 6 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATTINY13A-SSU, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 4 resistors, 2 diodes, 1 IC, 1 transistor, 1 connector and 1 battery holder.

From the project

Here is a fun and simple Halloween project, it is a flashing LED badge or decoration with an ATtiny13a microcontroller, powered by a CR2032 battery.

Here is a fun and simple Halloween project, it is a flashing LED badge or decoration with an ATtiny13a microcontroller, powered by a CR2032 battery.

A single CR2032 battery can power this device for about 6 days / 144 hours. The board also features an optional surface-mount 2.54mm connector which is Simple Add-ons (SAO) compatible so you can power the badges externally. * You can program the device using a SOIC-8 Test Clip or similar, I attached it to an Arduino-as-ISP setup.

HallowBadges-Pumpkin: common questions

What microcontroller does the HallowBadges-Pumpkin use?

The HallowBadges-Pumpkin is built around the ATTINY13A-SSU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the HallowBadges-Pumpkin PCB?

The HallowBadges-Pumpkin measures 99.6 × 94.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the HallowBadges-Pumpkin?

10 components, from 6 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the HallowBadges-Pumpkin design files?

From the makeristic/HallowBadges-Pumpkin repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the HallowBadges-Pumpkin design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with makeristic. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the HallowBadges-Pumpkin without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
