About the 9SegCounter PCB

9SegCounter is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by martinbros, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 72.2 × 78.5 mm, with 53 components from 10 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATTINY84-20SSU, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 19 capacitors, 18 diodes, 7 resistors, 6 switches, 2 connectors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

SAO 9 Segment 2 Digit Counter

Use this handy little SAO to count whatever your heart desires: how many conversations you have at Supercon, how many times someone asks what SAO stands for, how many times someone asks "What are you working on?". By using the onboard buttons, I2C interface, or clocking the GP2 pin, the Nine Segment Counter SAO will indicate to the world whatever quantity you are keeping track of.

9SegCounter: common questions

What microcontroller does the 9SegCounter use?

The 9SegCounter is built around the ATTINY84-20SSU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the 9SegCounter PCB?

The 9SegCounter measures 72.2 × 78.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the 9SegCounter?

53 components, from 10 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the 9SegCounter design files?

From the martinbros/9SegCounter repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the 9SegCounter design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which martinbros chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the 9SegCounter without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
