STM32WB55 Bluetooth development board — KiCad PCB design project

A 4-layer STM32WB55-based Bluetooth Low Energy development board, designed in KiCad by following Phil's Lab's professional PCB design tutorial — built to strengthen my understanding of the full schematic-to-manufacturing workflow, not just replicate the steps.

This board is built around the STM32WB55CEU, a dual-core MCU with an integrated BLE radio. It includes USB-C power/data, a UART header, an SWD programming interface, an RF front-end with a u.FL antenna connector, and a boot/reset button — a complete minimal BLE development platform.

STM32-Bluetooth: common questions

What microcontroller does the STM32-Bluetooth use?

The STM32-Bluetooth is built around the STM32WB55CEU, from the STM32 family.

How big is the STM32-Bluetooth PCB?

The STM32-Bluetooth measures 54.2 × 28.1 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.58 mm thick.

How many components are on the STM32-Bluetooth?

40 components, from 22 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the STM32-Bluetooth design files?

From the marwantm/STM32-Bluetooth repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the STM32-Bluetooth design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with marwantm. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the STM32-Bluetooth without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
