About the Mains PCB

Mains is an open source PCB design by micthiesen, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 150 × 110 mm, with 22 components from 22 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the IRM-45-12 and AP63205WU-7. By type, the board carries 7 capacitors, 6 connectors, 2 ICs, 2 fuses, 1 relay and 1 diode.

From the project

Aquarium skimmer controller: capacitive sensing, ESP32-C6 firmware, and separated mains switching

Open mains.kicadpro. The accepted 150 × 110 mm, two-layer lower board has 26 footprints and 31 unrouted connections**. Strict ERC, schematic parity and ordinary DRC pass. Four 3.2 mm NPTH mounts are inset 7 mm and align with the controller, with 45 mm clear board-face separation.

J1–J4 use Phoenix 1868076 two-position side-entry screw terminals, with both positions used. All 106 previous owner-routed tracks were cleared as authorized. Eleven ground vias, isolated F.Cu/B.Cu pours, mounting/barrier exclusions, netclasses and bounded pad-escape rules are applied. The saved two-layer stack…

Mains: common questions

How big is the Mains PCB?

The Mains measures 150 × 110 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Mains?

22 components, from 22 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Mains design files?

From the micthiesen/crystal-shim repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Mains design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with micthiesen. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
