About the KSP-MacroPad PCB

KSP-MacroPad is an open source PCB design by MintyTheCoder, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 100 mm, with 66 components from 10 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MOUDLE-SEEEDUINO-XIAO. By type, the board carries 20 LEDs, 17 switches, 16 diodes, 9 resistors, 1 IC and 1 capacitor.

It belongs with the keyboards and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

KSP MacroPad repo for the HackClub stardance project

A custom macropad built for Kerbal Space Program, made for Hack Club's Stardance Challenge.

16 macro keys and 2 rotary encoders on a custom PCB, driven by a Seeed XIAO RP2040. The keys don't send keystrokes. They trigger full flight procedures (launch, gravity turn, circularize, rendezvous, suicide burn, an interplanetary autopilot) that a companion KSP mod runs inside the game. The mod talks to the pad over USB serial, and sends state back for per-key RGB LEDs, underglow, and a 128x32 OLED.

KSP-MacroPad: common questions

How big is the KSP-MacroPad PCB?

The KSP-MacroPad measures 100 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the KSP-MacroPad?

66 components, from 10 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the KSP-MacroPad design files?

From the MintyTheCoder/KSP-MacroPad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the KSP-MacroPad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with MintyTheCoder. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
