About the TempLoggerNG PCB

TempLoggerNG is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by miree, published on GitHub under the GPL-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 56.9 × 45 mm, with 29 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA328p, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the ADS1248 and NCP1117-3v3. By type, the board carries 9 capacitors, 6 resistors, 4 transistors, 4 transformers, 3 ICs and 2 connectors.

It belongs with the sensors and test & measurement designs in this gallery.

From the project

Four channel pt-100 temperature logging device using an ADS1248 and an ATMEGA328p with V-USB

A four-channel PT-100 temperature logging device built around a Texas Instruments ADS1248 precision delta-sigma ADC and an ATmega328p microcontroller with V-USB (software-only USB, no dedicated USB controller chip). The device connects directly to a PC over USB and is controlled by a small command-line tool that triggers measurements and logs resistance/temperature readings to a file.

TempLoggerNG: common questions

What microcontroller does the TempLoggerNG use?

The TempLoggerNG is built around the ATMEGA328p, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the TempLoggerNG PCB?

The TempLoggerNG measures 56.9 × 45 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the TempLoggerNG?

29 components, from 17 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the TempLoggerNG design files?

From the miree/tempLoggerNG repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the TempLoggerNG design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-2.0 license, which miree chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the TempLoggerNG without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
