The aim of this project is to build a connected gas sensor.

To be more specific, we use RN2483 chip, connected to an Arduino Uno, to send on the LoRa Network the values returned by the MQ-9 gas sensor. Thanks to The Things Network and Node-RED we create a dashboard as a user interface. In this dashboard, the user can monitor the value of the gas sensor and calibrate it.

Chouvet Laffosse Gas Sensor: common questions

What microcontroller does the Chouvet Laffosse Gas Sensor use?

The Chouvet Laffosse Gas Sensor is built around the Arduino_1pin, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Chouvet Laffosse Gas Sensor PCB?

The Chouvet Laffosse Gas Sensor measures 68.6 × 53.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Chouvet Laffosse Gas Sensor?

17 components, from 10 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Chouvet Laffosse Gas Sensor design files?

From the MOSH-Insa-Toulouse/Chouvet_Laffosse_Gas_Sensor repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Chouvet Laffosse Gas Sensor design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with MOSH-Insa-Toulouse. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Chouvet Laffosse Gas Sensor without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
