About the DuckBoard75 PCB

DuckBoard75 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by MrDuck354, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 363.1 × 134.5 mm, with 170 components from 14 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ARDUINO_NANO_RP2040_CONNECT, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 87 switches, 82 diodes and 1 module.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

A keyboard im making by 3d printing the case and soldering the switches to the pcb. This is so that I can learn how to 3D model/print and solder because I have never done either.

Made a top plate on OnShape using the PCB as a reference

Made a bottom case to fit everything and put it all together

Created the firmware using iNimbleSloth's tutorial on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bjpLteXY Completed

Soldered the electronics together (Not yet completed)

For more information on how I made these parts or how they fit together, check my JOURNAL.md where I documented my design process.

DuckBoard75: common questions

What microcontroller does the DuckBoard75 use?

The DuckBoard75 is built around the ARDUINO_NANO_RP2040_CONNECT, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the DuckBoard75 PCB?

The DuckBoard75 measures 363.1 × 134.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the DuckBoard75?

170 components, from 14 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the DuckBoard75 design files?

From the MrDuck354/DuckBoard75 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the DuckBoard75 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with MrDuck354. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the DuckBoard75 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
