About the Pwmcontroller PCB

Pwmcontroller is an open source PCB design by mtreinish, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-1.2 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 35.1 × 44.5 mm, with 17 components from 14 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MC78L05_TO92, NE555 and 74AHC1G14. By type, the board carries 6 capacitors, 3 ICs, 3 connectors, 2 diodes and 2 resistors.

From the project

Manual PWM controller board for powered fan splitters

This repository contains the hardware design files (for use with KiCad) that will create a PWM controller board. The intent here is to plug this in between a motherboard 4-pin fan header and a powered fan splitter, like the Silverstone CPF04 or Swiftech 8W-PWM-SPL-ST. The pwm signal is generated by the 555 timer on the board and adjusted with the on pcb potentiometer, 12v fan power from the motherboard is used solely for the DC/DC converter and 555 timer. No power pins are connected on the output fan header.

Pwmcontroller: common questions

How big is the Pwmcontroller PCB?

The Pwmcontroller measures 35.1 × 44.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pwmcontroller?

17 components, from 14 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pwmcontroller design files?

From the mtreinish/pwmcontroller repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pwmcontroller design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-1.2 license, which mtreinish chose for the repository.
