About the Badge ICA2026 PCB

Badge ICA2026 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by natpoor, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 19.5 × 4.1 mm, with 16 components from 14 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA328PB-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 6 resistors, 4 LEDs, 2 switches, 1 IC, 1 battery holder and 1 capacitor.

It belongs with the wearables designs in this gallery.

From the project

KiCAD etc files for the ICA 2026 PCB badge.

These files should get you a game-controller shaped blinking badge (four LEDs, colors/positions matching the Xbox controller), based on the ATMEGA 328PB chip. Has a Sleep button and a Mode button (to change blink patterns). Wants a 3v coin battery (2025/2032), and uses a connector off the programmer from Tag-Connect. Only has SMD components (so no THT on the back to catch on clothing, it's a badge to be worn).

Badge ICA2026: common questions

What microcontroller does the Badge ICA2026 use?

The Badge ICA2026 is built around the ATMEGA328PB-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Badge ICA2026 PCB?

The Badge ICA2026 measures 19.5 × 4.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Badge ICA2026?

16 components, from 14 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Badge ICA2026 design files?

From the natpoor/badge_ICA2026 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Badge ICA2026 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with natpoor. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Badge ICA2026 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
