About the Version1 PCB

Version1 is an open source STM32 PCB design by NeerajR18, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 395 × 135 mm, with 210 components from 22 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F072CBT6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the XC6206P332MR-G. By type, the board carries 93 diodes, 10 capacitors, 8 switches, 3 resistors, 2 ICs and 2 connectors.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

version1 is a TKL(TenKeyLess) Mechanical Keyboard with Kalih Hotswappable sockets and Cherry MX Black switches.

version1 is a TKL(TenKeyLess) Mechanical Keyboard with Kalih Hotswappable sockets and Cherry MX Black switches.

The keyboard features a fully custom made PCB with 87 standard TKL keys and 4 macrokeys. The keyboard is wired, using a USB-C port. version1 uses the STM32F072CBT6 at its core.

The PCB was designed in KiCad and the case was designed in Autodesk Fusion. Fusion was also used to render images of the design. The footprints for the switches have been taken from the marbastlib library - https://github.com/ebastler/marbastlib

Version1: common questions

What microcontroller does the Version1 use?

The Version1 is built around the STM32F072CBT6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Version1 PCB?

The Version1 measures 395 × 135 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Version1?

210 components, from 22 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Version1 design files?

From the NeerajR18/version1 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Version1 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with NeerajR18. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Version1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
