About the Business card proto PCB

Business card proto is an open source WCH CH32/CH55x PCB design by NetRunSecurity, published on GitHub under the TAPR-OHL-1.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 86.4 × 54 mm, with 15 components from 11 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the SOIC-16_3.9x9.9mm_P1.27mm, from the WCH CH32/CH55x family. By type, the board carries 4 resistors, 3 capacitors, 2 ICs, 2 switches, 2 test points and 1 connector.

It belongs with the usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

From the project

BusinessCard USB - CH552G

A real, working USB business card. It's shaped like a card, but the bottom edge is cut into a USB-A male connector, plug it straight into any port, no cable, no adapter. Powered by a CH552G with native USB (no USB-to-serial bridge chip), two capacitive touch pads, a status LED, and a UART debug header.

It's a business card, a hacking tool, and a flex in one.

Business card proto: common questions

What microcontroller does the Business card proto use?

The Business card proto is built around the SOIC-16_3.9x9.9mm_P1.27mm, from the WCH CH32/CH55x family.

How big is the Business card proto PCB?

The Business card proto measures 86.4 × 54 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Business card proto?

15 components, from 11 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Business card proto design files?

From the NetRunSecurity/BusinessCardUSB repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Business card proto design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its TAPR-OHL-1.0 license, which NetRunSecurity chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Business card proto without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug WCH CH32/CH55x firmware against it before you order a PCB.
