About the Webusb programmer rev6 PCB

Webusb programmer rev6 is an open source WCH CH32/CH55x PCB design by laneboysrc, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 38 × 20 mm, with 18 components from 15 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the TLC5940PWPR, from the WCH CH32/CH55x family. Other key parts include the LPC824M201JDH20. By type, the board carries 6 diodes, 6 resistors, 2 ICs, 2 connectors and 2 capacitors.

It belongs with the usb & debug tools and rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Extensible RC car light controller with Web-based configuration tool

This is a programmer for the NXP LPC812/823/824 micro-controller, using the ISP (serial) protocol.

It connects to a PC or Android phone via USB and uses WebUSB (available in Chrome, Opera and Edge browsers) to communicate with a web app.

The great thing about this programmer is that no driver or software needs to be installed. Just connect the WebUSB programmer to the PC, load the Light Controller Configurator in the web browser, and program your light controller.

Webusb programmer rev6: common questions

What microcontroller does the Webusb programmer rev6 use?

The Webusb programmer rev6 is built around the TLC5940PWPR, from the WCH CH32/CH55x family.

How big is the Webusb programmer rev6 PCB?

The Webusb programmer rev6 measures 38 × 20 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1 mm thick.

How many components are on the Webusb programmer rev6?

18 components, from 15 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Webusb programmer rev6 design files?

From the laneboysrc/rc-light-controller repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Webusb programmer rev6 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which laneboysrc chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Webusb programmer rev6 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug WCH CH32/CH55x firmware against it before you order a PCB.
