About the Ninjapad PCB

Ninjapad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Ninjadude01, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 47 × 61 mm, with 6 components from 2 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 5 switches and 1 IC.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

a macropad

Ninjapad is a custom 5-key macropad that is fully customizable using qmk software. It uses cherry mx switches, a xiao rp 2040, and a custom PCB! I decided to make this macropad because I spend lots of my day on my computer, and having a customizable tool would be very useful and time saving. Additionally, it is a great project to help intoduce me to qmk and soldering, as I plan to make a full keyboard in the near future :)

Ninjapad: common questions

What microcontroller does the Ninjapad use?

The Ninjapad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Ninjapad PCB?

The Ninjapad measures 47 × 61 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ninjapad?

6 components, from 2 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ninjapad design files?

From the Ninjadude01/Ninjapad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ninjapad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Ninjadude01. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Ninjapad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
