About the Kicad homeatic minimal PCB

Kicad homeatic minimal is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by olliiiver, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 43 × 28 mm, with 19 components from 15 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega328P-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the Homebrew_CC1101. By type, the board carries 5 capacitors, 4 connectors, 3 resistors, 2 ICs, 2 LEDs and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Minimal PCB for Homematic / BidCoS prototyping

A minimal PCB to build hardware devices for Homematic / BidCoS networks.

PINs (A0x - D0x, GND, 3v3) are compatible to 2.54mm prototype perfboards.

Upload is possible via Serial (FTDI,etc) and ISP (J3).

Kicad homeatic minimal: common questions

What microcontroller does the Kicad homeatic minimal use?

The Kicad homeatic minimal is built around the ATmega328P-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Kicad homeatic minimal PCB?

The Kicad homeatic minimal measures 43 × 28 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Kicad homeatic minimal?

19 components, from 15 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Kicad homeatic minimal design files?

From the olliiiver/kicad_homeatic_minimal repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Kicad homeatic minimal design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which olliiiver chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Kicad homeatic minimal without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
