About the Elec PCB

Elec is an open source PCB design by OpenA3XX, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 322.4 × 106.5 mm, with 136 components from 14 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MAX7219CWG. By type, the board carries 84 diodes, 30 resistors, 5 connectors, 2 switches, 2 capacitors and 1 IC.

From the project

OpenA3XX: Panels, 3D Printed Components & Reference Archive

As part of a long-term flight simulation setup, I'm building a home Airbus cockpit replica, focusing on authenticity, durability, and modularity. This project includes:

- Accurate panel layouts (e.g., ADIRS, FLT-CTL, etc.) - Reference imagery from real cockpits - 3D printed components (knobs, switch housings, structural parts) - Design schematics, templates, and notes from real-world dimensions - Documentation of tools and techniques used in building panels

Elec: common questions

How big is the Elec PCB?

The Elec measures 322.4 × 106.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Elec?

136 components, from 14 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Elec design files?

From the OpenA3XX/opena3xx-cockpit repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Elec design in my own project?

It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.
