About the LightController PCB

LightController is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Pablo-Ortiz-Lopez, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 61.1 × 50.9 mm, with 24 components from 12 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA328P-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the 5V07 Transformer. By type, the board carries 10 resistors, 4 connectors, 4 capacitors, 3 switches, 2 ICs and 1 crystal.

From the project

The LightController is a versatile device designed to provide remote control for up to three dimmer units. This README provides a brief overview of the project's status and its available resources.

The LightController is a versatile device designed to provide remote control for up to three dimmer units. This README provides a brief overview of the project's status and its available resources.

The LightController project is currently a work in progress. As such, I am actively developing and refining its features, firmware, and hardware components. While the project is in its early stages, I recommend patience until a stable working prototype is achieved.

LightController: common questions

What microcontroller does the LightController use?

The LightController is built around the ATMEGA328P-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the LightController PCB?

The LightController measures 61.1 × 50.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the LightController?

24 components, from 12 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the LightController design files?

From the Pablo-Ortiz-Lopez/LightController repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the LightController design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Pablo-Ortiz-Lopez. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the LightController without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
