About the Floppy-Ant-Controller PCB

Floppy-Ant-Controller is an open source STM32 PCB design by paolo-dgz, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 22.8 × 33.3 mm, with 60 components from 21 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F070CBTX, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the TPS563200, H7233-1, DRV8838, 74LVC1T45DW-7 and AT24C02C. By type, the board carries 31 capacitors, 13 resistors, 9 ICs, 2 switches, 2 diodes and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the robotics & motion and power & battery designs in this gallery, and the repository also holds 3 earlier revisions of it.

From the project

The Floppy Ant Controller is a control board for Antweight (150g) fighting robots. It implements many features and thanks to the ability to change settings without having to modify the code it makes it perfect for less experienced people.

The Floppy Ant Controller is a control board for Antweight (150g) fighting robots. It implements many features and thanks to the ability to change settings without having to modify the code it makes it perfect for less experienced people.

Taking inspiration from the now well-known Malenki nano (https://github.com/MarkR42/malenki-nano.git), other features have been added, maintaining a small size and an affordable price.

Floppy-Ant-Controller: common questions

What microcontroller does the Floppy-Ant-Controller use?

The Floppy-Ant-Controller is built around the STM32F070CBTX, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Floppy-Ant-Controller PCB?

The Floppy-Ant-Controller measures 22.8 × 33.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 0.89 mm thick.

How many components are on the Floppy-Ant-Controller?

60 components, from 21 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Floppy-Ant-Controller design files?

From the paolo-dgz/Floppy-Ant-Controller repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Floppy-Ant-Controller design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which paolo-dgz chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Floppy-Ant-Controller without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
