About the Axon PCB

Axon is an open source STM32 PCB design by paulodietricheng, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 43.9 × 55.6 mm, with 67 components from 30 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32G431CBTx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the INA333xxDGK, OPA333xxDCK, TPS7A2033PDBVR, TPS60403DBVR and ADS131M02IPWR. By type, the board carries 31 capacitors, 18 resistors, 9 ICs, 4 diodes, 3 connectors and 1 crystal.

From the project

Electromyography (EMG) signal processing device with an analog front end for amplification and filtering, analog-to-digital conversion, and STM32 firmware for real-time processing and actuation of external devices.

Axon is a single-channel mixed-signal Electromyography (EMG) acquisition and actuation system built around a custom PCB. It combines a low-noise analog front end, delta-sigma analog-to-digital conversion, and STM32 firmware for real-time signal acquisition and control of external devices.

The project emphasizes signal integrity, deterministic signal paths, and hardware/firmware co-design in a timing-constrained embedded system.

Axon: common questions

What microcontroller does the Axon use?

The Axon is built around the STM32G431CBTx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Axon PCB?

The Axon measures 43.9 × 55.6 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Axon?

67 components, from 30 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Axon design files?

From the paulodietricheng/Axon repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Axon design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with paulodietricheng. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Axon without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
