From the project
A learning project to create an EV AC Charging station based on an Arduino Uno
This Arduino Uno code and Shield are provided as a starter project for educational purposes only. They are intended to help you learn about EV charging concepts and are sufficient to demonstrate basic charging station functionality. This project is not compliant with safety standards or certifications required for production use.
ELECTRICAL HAZARD: Working with AC mains power is dangerous and can result in serious injury, death, electric shock, fire, or property damage. If you are not experienced with high-voltage electrical systems, consult a licensed electrician before attempting to build…

AC ChargingStation: common questions
What microcontroller does the AC ChargingStation use?
The AC ChargingStation is built around the Arduino_UNO_R3, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the AC ChargingStation PCB?
The AC ChargingStation measures 53.9 × 69.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the AC ChargingStation?
32 components, from 15 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the AC ChargingStation design files?
From the PedroCNeves/AC_ChargingStation repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the AC ChargingStation design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with PedroCNeves. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the AC ChargingStation without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
