About the Touchboard PCB

Touchboard is an open source PCB design by plan44, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 144.3 × 22.4 mm, with 22 components from 10 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the AT42QT1070 and MCP23017. By type, the board carries 12 resistors, 4 diodes, 3 connectors, 2 ICs and 1 capacitor.

It belongs with the audio, displays & leds and power & battery designs in this gallery.

Pixelboard game lounge table - hardware (laser cut plans, schematics, PCBs)

The Pixelboard is a 80*40cm lounge table board only 24mm thick, integrating a 10x20 color pixel matrix, 8 touch keys, a linux controller with WiFi and ethernet and even a power supply. All disguised under a dark plexiglass, looking like a regular lounge table until touched...

With the current software (see pixelboardd and pixelboard-config in plan44-feed) you can play tetris (alone or 2 players each on one end of the board), watch Conway's game of life, let text messages scroll over the surface and display small 10x20 pixel PNG images (via web interface).

Touchboard: common questions

How big is the Touchboard PCB?

The Touchboard measures 144.3 × 22.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Touchboard?

22 components, from 10 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Touchboard design files?

From the plan44/pixelboard-hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Touchboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with plan44. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
