About the Tickbox hardware PCB
Tickbox hardware is an open source Renesas PCB design by poh0, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 58 × 36.8 mm, with 29 components from 19 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the R5F10RLAGFB#10, from the Renesas family. By type, the board carries 12 resistors, 4 switches, 4 capacitors, 2 connectors, 2 diodes and 1 IC.
It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.
From the project
KICAD Project for Low Power Custom LCD Alarm Clock PCB based on Renesas RL78/L12
This repository contains the KiCad project and design files for a custom low-power digital alarm clock based on the Renesas RL78/L12 microcontroller. The firmware repo: https://github.com/poh0/tickbox_firmware
Measured Total 1.9 uA idle current (LCD ON + RTC ticking), The clock is idle most of the time and when it's not, current is still well under a milliamp. Thus it is reasonable to expect battery life of up to 8 years on a CR2032

Tickbox hardware: common questions
What microcontroller does the Tickbox hardware use?
The Tickbox hardware is built around the R5F10RLAGFB#10, from the Renesas family.
How big is the Tickbox hardware PCB?
The Tickbox hardware measures 58 × 36.8 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.600198 mm thick.
How many components are on the Tickbox hardware?
29 components, from 19 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Tickbox hardware design files?
From the poh0/tickbox-hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Tickbox hardware design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with poh0. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Tickbox hardware without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Renesas firmware against it before you order a PCB.
