About the Bat PCB

Bat is an open source PCB design by polaracep, published on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 94.4 × 48.6 mm, with 16 components from 9 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 6 resistors, 3 transistors, 3 capacitors, 2 diodes, 1 battery holder and 1 switch.

The astable multivibrator generates a distorted ramp wave, which in turn gets smoothened out by a filter, driving 2 LEDs with a transistor creating an effect of the bat's ominously blinking eyes.

The circuit can take some time until it starts blinking.

Bat: common questions

How big is the Bat PCB?

The Bat measures 94.4 × 48.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Bat?

16 components, from 9 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Bat design files?

From the polaracep/soldering-kits repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Bat design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its AGPL-3.0 license, which polaracep chose for the repository.
