About the STM32alt PCB

STM32alt is an open source STM32 PCB design by profdc9, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 26.7 × 76.2 mm, with 27 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F103C8T6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the LM1117-3.3. By type, the board carries 9 capacitors, 6 connectors, 5 resistors, 3 diodes, 2 ICs and 2 crystals.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

STM32F103C8T6/STM32F103CBT6 Bluepill-compatible devboard with through-hole parts (mostly)

This is a Bluepill-compatible devboard for the STM32F103C8T6 microcontroller. It uses all through-hole parts except for the STM32F103C8T6/STM32F103CBT6 microcontroller and is intended to be an alternative to the Bluepill that is easier to assemble should the Bluepill not be available or suitable. It is somewhat optimized to be RFI resistant given it is a two-layer board This material is copyrighted by Daniel Marks (KW4TI) and licensed under the Creative Commons License CC-BY-SA 4.0. STM32alt: common questions

What microcontroller does the STM32alt use?

The STM32alt is built around the STM32F103C8T6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the STM32alt PCB?

The STM32alt measures 26.7 × 76.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the STM32alt?

27 components, from 18 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the STM32alt design files?

From the profdc9/STM32alt repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the STM32alt design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with profdc9. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the STM32alt without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
