About the FireboxRebooter PCB

FireboxRebooter is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Qeteshpony, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 40 × 40 mm, with 23 components from 15 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny45-20SU, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 9 resistors, 5 diodes, 4 connectors, 3 transistors, 1 IC and 1 capacitor.

From the project

Rebooting a device that refuses to reboot

This piece of software, together with the hardware in this repository, allows automatic rebooting of a modified Watchguard Firebox M400 or M500 when the normal reboot doesn't work anymore.

FireboxRebooter: common questions

What microcontroller does the FireboxRebooter use?

The FireboxRebooter is built around the ATtiny45-20SU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the FireboxRebooter PCB?

The FireboxRebooter measures 40 × 40 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the FireboxRebooter?

23 components, from 15 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the FireboxRebooter design files?

From the Qeteshpony/FireboxRebooter repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the FireboxRebooter design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Qeteshpony chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the FireboxRebooter without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
