About the Christmas Tree PCB
Christmas Tree is an open source PIC PCB design by RICCIARDI-Adrien, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 264 × 368 mm, with 207 components from 15 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the PIC18F23K22, from the PIC family. By type, the board carries 101 resistors, 95 diodes, 4 transistors, 4 capacitors, 2 connectors and 1 IC.
From the project
A LED christmas tree with shining bulbs.
A lighted Christmas tree with shiny fairy lights and star.
Here are all needed parts to build the Christmas tree :
Board has been designed with KiCaD 5.1.4. PCB production files and Bill of materials are available in releases section. When manufacturing the PCB, select a black top and bottom solder mask to highlight the leds. * Board is powered by an USB-B connector. Use a 2A (or more) standard USB power supply, like this one.

Christmas Tree: common questions
What microcontroller does the Christmas Tree use?
The Christmas Tree is built around the PIC18F23K22, from the PIC family.
How big is the Christmas Tree PCB?
The Christmas Tree measures 264 × 368 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Christmas Tree?
207 components, from 15 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Christmas Tree design files?
From the RICCIARDI-Adrien/Christmas_Tree repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Christmas Tree design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with RICCIARDI-Adrien. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Christmas Tree without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug PIC firmware against it before you order a PCB.
