From the project

KiCad project for an Arduino Nano clone (ATmega328P + FT232RL USB-serial)

An open-source hardware clone of the Arduino Nano, designed in KiCad 10. Based on the ATmega328P microcontroller with an FTDI FT232RL for USB-to-serial, in the standard Nano form factor with a Mini-USB connector.

- MCU: ATmega328P-A (TQFP-32) - USB-Serial: FTDI FT232RL - USB connector: USB-B Mini - Power: LM1117MP-5.0 regulator, VIN/5V/VUSB power paths with power-good LED - Programming: ICSP header, auto-reset via DTR - I/O: Full Nano-compatible pinout (D0–D13, A0–A7, VIN, 5V, 3V3, GND, RESET, AREF) - Indicators: Power LED (green) and RX/TX activity LEDs

Arduino nano clone: common questions

What microcontroller does the Arduino nano clone use?

The Arduino nano clone is built around the ATmega328P-A, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Arduino nano clone PCB?

The Arduino nano clone measures 54 × 24.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Arduino nano clone?

33 components, from 18 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Arduino nano clone design files?

From the riteshh27/arduino-nano-clone repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Arduino nano clone design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with riteshh27. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Arduino nano clone without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
